Matthew has been involved in teaching English for over 18 years. He has mostly taught adults from beginners to advanced and IELTS preparation but has also had experience in teaching children from primary to high school both in New Zealand and Korea.

Johanna is from Auckland, New Zealand, but she has lived for over 10 years in SE Asia. With over 15 years English teaching experience, she is passionate about training English teachers and is committed to helping students attain their goals and have a rewarding and worthwhile time at AEC.
Dave FERN
Student Welfare & TKT/TESOL instructor
Dave earned a Bachelor of Education (Hons) in England, as well as an RSA cert. TEFL qualification. 25 years of teaching experience in both England and New Zealand has given him the skills to help others to grow and develop in English and as people.
Dan STRADWICK
IELTS Instructor
Dan was involved in social work for over 25 years, which included lecturing, training and pastoral care. He earned a TESOL certificate from Trinity College London and now specialises in teaching IELTS exam skills.
Zoe TWEMLOW
Zoe is New Zealand born, but lived in China for seven years. She qualified as an English instructor with a CELTA certificate from the New Zealand Language Centre in Auckland. She enjoys teaching entry level English.
John McCoskrie
John is a New Zealand trained secondary teacher with over 30 years’ experience. He is TESOL qualified and has taught a range of students in New Zealand, the Solomon Islands, Senegal and Bangladesh
Tersia Elisabeth NAIDOO
Tersia has over 20 years English teaching experience. She graduated with a Diploma in Music Education (Hons), in South Africa and a Masters’ in Professional Language Teaching in New Zealand. She thoroughly enjoys teaching English.
Sue GOVENDER
Sue has been teaching for over 18 years. She strives to educate students and empower them with life skills that will enable them to integrate into Kiwi culture. Her motto is always to Encourage, Educate and Empower.
Philip BOOTH
Philip has a wide range of cross cultural and teaching experiences: teaching English as a Second Language, Primary Education, Adult Education and Special Education since 2005. He enjoys teaching using acting, drawing and language games.
Peter McCROSKRIE
Peter holds a B.Com / LL.B, and CELTA qualification. He worked at a Community Law Centre in Auckland with a strong focus on legal education before moving to Mexico, where he gained 17 years’ experience teaching English and Spanish.
Mark Campbell
Mark is a New Zealand trained teacher with a CELTA qualification and over 25 years’ experience in youth work. He is an accomplished actor and brings his unique creativity into the classroom to develop positive life skills in young people.
Lyn KAHAAR
Lyn has had over 25 years teaching experience. She began as a primary and high school teacher and then moved on to teach ESOL in Korea and New Zealand. Lyn teaches her students in a friendly and nurturing environment.
Shane CHUBB
TEFL Instructor & Activities Co-ordinator
Shane has been teaching English for 15 years and is passionate to see his students succeed. As the activities co-ordinator he has the privilege of introducing students to the sights and attractions of New Zealand from Auckland to Taupo.
